25-year old American forward Sydney Curry (203-F-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for Marineros de Puerto Plata and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 42 points and 17 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Metros (#1, 13-8) 99-108. Marineros maintains the 5th position in Dominican Rep. league. Marineros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 12th lost game this season out of 21 games. In the team's last game Curry had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Marineros, through which he has constantly improved. Grand Canyon State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Curry is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.4ppg and leads league in rebounds with 10.8rpg. Curry is in league's top in and averages solid 1.1bpg and 63.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Trahson Burrell (201-F/G-1992) of Leones de Santo Domingo. He is American swingman in his first season at Leones. In the last game Burrell recorded an impressive 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Leones to another comfortable win 108-91 over the lower-ranked Caneros (#6, 8-12) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Leones to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 11-9 record is not bad at all. Burrell is one of the most experienced players at Leones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.2ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 3.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Austin Trice (201-F-2000) of Caneros Del Este (#6). Trice scored 28 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Trice's great performance the Caneros lost 91-108 to the higher-ranked Leones (#3, 11-9). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Caneros ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Trice could help Caneros to bring them higher in the standings. Trice has a very solid season. In 5 games in Dominican Republic he scored 22.8ppg.
